During the past several months, I have been meaning to share updates about my inclusion in two magazine publications - The Best of Acrylic magazine (published September 2023) and Arts to Hearts Magazine Issue #4 (published November 2023). I know I am very late, but I feel it's important that I share these because it has been such an honor to have been selected. I've created a section on my website earmarked for publications, which will include photos of pages in which I appear, and additional information. https://www.chasityc.art/publications
In January, I walked into Barnes & Noble in Union Square. To my surprise, I spotted a familiar magazine cover.
I just about yanked it off the shelf with excitement. It was nearly impossible to process that my work was printed in this very magazine, and there it was, ready to be purchased at an immensely popular book store like Barnes & Noble. I slowly turned to page 37. Something about turning these pages in this setting felt so different from when I was flipping through them at home. It felt a bit surreal. It felt great.
As for Arts to Hearts Magazine Issue #4 - I was one of 35 female artists selected by guest curator and esteemed artist Dina Brodsky, to be published in the magazine.
Having a printed copy in my hands was such a delight. It was beautifully edited, and high-quality with some nice heft to it. The images were gorgeous and the text layouts very well done. I was especially thrilled with my pages (60 - 63). I have a lovely 4-page spread dedicated to some of my artwork and thoughts.
Whenever I am feeling discouraged and low, I try to remind myself of the little wins that have come along with the rejections. These were nothing short of wins to me, and I appreciate them more than words can express.
